A strange photo for today. I was walking along Poppelsdorfer allee in the morning and got fascinated by the sharp shadows. Ended up taking a picture of almost every bike parked there i think. But looking at the resulting photos now i see that i failed to make the shadows actually the subjects. They just don't stand out :( that's where the strange crop above comes from.

I like this one a lot two. Stop complaining about it ;)
ReplyDeletewell, the crop feels too forced. maybe i should play with it some more.
ReplyDeleteI really like this photo. Voting doesn't work for me though.
ReplyDeleteany information that can help me find out why it doesn't?
ReplyDeleteI click "Rate this: 5" and see 2 Votes and correctly calculated average. When I refresh a page stars are gone. If I revisit the page I only see one vote (4 stars).
ReplyDeleteI'm on IE8
oh well now I can't even post a comment.
additionally, the same happens if I'm logged in with my google account. and the same happens when I try to rate from a list (the stars are updated etc, but if I go to individual article the rating is gone).
ReplyDeleteok it worked in firefox
ReplyDeleteI just came across your blog from over at PG's... I really enjoy your stuff, and have a similar affinity for flower shots. But I really like this one, too -- I think the crop enhances it, actually.
ReplyDeleteA few weeks ago, I took a similar shot: http://www.crapmanagement.com/2009/05/skipper.html. I was shooting an assignment for a class, and the sun came out & that's when I saw the shadow...
It was well before I saw your shot, but I think we could chalk it up to great minds thinking alike!
